What is Here4TN?
Here4TN, powered by Optum, is here for all State of Tennessee employees and their dependents. It’s not your traditional “employee assistance program.” It’s a friendly and confidential service that provides a wide range of resources for any life situation, including: EAP, WorkLife services, behavioral health, substance use treatment and more.

Who is eligible for EAP benefits?

  • State and Higher Education: EAP services are available to all benefits-eligible employees and their eligible family members, even if they are not enrolled in medical insurance. Note – The five EAP visits per year, per issue are per individual. Members are ineligible for EAP visits while they are currently receiving Behavioral Health services.
  • Local Ed and Local Gov: EAP services are available to employees who are enrolled in medical insurance. Dependents are eligible even if they are not enrolled in medical insurance. Note – The five EAP visits per year, per issue are per individual. Members are ineligible for EAP visits while they are currently receiving Behavioral Health services.

Who is eligible for Behavioral Health benefits?

  • All members (employees and dependents) enrolled in medical insurance are eligible for Behavioral Health benefits.

Are services confidential?
Yes. We keep all records confidential in accordance with federal and state laws. We will never share your personal records with your employer, or anyone else, without your permission.

How do I find providers who are covered?
Simply click the “Find a Provider” link to search for covered providers and facilities or see if your current provider is covered.

How do I submit a claim?
In most cases, your network provider will submit claims. If you or your dependents use a behavioral health clinician not in our network, you can easily submit an online claim for payment.

Do I require prior authorization before meeting with a provider?
Yes. To obtain approval for services, submit an authorization form prior to your appointment. Or you may speak with a specialist at 855-Here4TN  (855-437-3486)

Benefits & Services

What can Here4TN do for you?

We can provide support for all the areas of your life. Need a rental car? Meals delivered to your home? A pet-friendly hotel? We can help you locate convenience services.

We can also provide support for life’s bigger challenges. These include family concerns, financial issues, separation and divorce, substance abuse, stress and anxiety, and much more.

Confidential counseling services are available to you at no cost. You have up to five EAP counseling sessions available to you.

Our carefully selected specialists are on hand 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to lend support and help you find the resources you need. Learn more about WorkLife Services here.

How much will this benefit cost?

There is no charge for referrals to services. When you see a provider in our network, you will receive five EAP visits at no cost. For legal services, your first meeting is free, and you will receive a 25 percent discount on services after that. Your first visit to a financial advisor is free.

EAP sessions are issued and authorized on a per-problem-per-year-per-person basis. For example the member receives five EAP counseling sessions for each problem. Should a different unrelated problem arise within the same plan year, the member would receive an additional five sessions to address the new problem. A different problem is either: 1) a new issue for which the member has received no previous counseling or 2) an existing issue that has not been treated in that plan year. Examples of different problems (not an exhaustive list): Relationship issues, Job stress, Parenting issues, Caregiving of a loved one, and Death of a loved one.

Behavioral health services received through your benefit may require prior approval and/or copayment, and there may be a deductible.
